Welcome to ukresults - Web site of the Month, September 2003 in Runners World.

For the most cost-effective quality results for your running race, duathlon or triathlon, contact me. My associates VLA Events (Ramsbottom, Bury) and Black Sheep Sports (formerly TriCoachingUK.org) are also available to lend their expertise to your event. Contact me for availability.

Email problems - In recent days, I have had a number of email problems, which appear to be specifically related to emails addressed to me at my ntlworld.com account. From 14th April, mail addressed to that account cannot be guaranteed to be delivered to me, so please all update your address books so that you only send to me at the john at ukresults.net address.

Thinking of online entries for your event? Race Organisers, you can now accept your online entries inexpensively (or for free!) and flexibly via ukresults - contact me to discuss your requirements. I can also accommodate your event's requirements with regard to full entry management (postal or online entries, database compilation and submission to you, posting race packs etc.)

Runners - postage costs and envelope sizes causing you a headache with your race entries? Use my service and beat the Mail - postage charges have gone up another 2p in early April!! Remember - UKResults does not require you to register for online entry and does not store your personal data after entries have closed. None of your email addresses and other information will be released to anyone other than the race organiser without your consent.

Fed up with England Athletics (UKA or whatever they want to call themselves these days)? Does your club organise road races? Have a look at ARC (Association of Running Clubs) as a viable alternative - they issue race permits, event insurance etc. and you get to keep 65% of the unattached levy to plough back into your club and/or event!

Mick Hall from Staffs Moorlands AC is organising trips on May 3rd to the Luxembourg Marathon & Half and another on October 19th to the Amsterdam Marathon, Half & 5k. If you are interesting in joining him, please contact Mick via his web site.

This is the web site of John Schofield, as featured in Runner's World. I have included old results for your information. I'm still (very slowly and occasionally) re-typing some old ones from paper copies so bear with me on those! If any links don't work, please let me know!! All pages and listings are my copyright unless otherwise stated but I grant a general licence for individuals and clubs to print off or copy details for their own private or club purposes, but not for sale or publication in any form other than a club newsletter.

No copying for re-publication in print or on the internet of any part of this site is permitted, except as licensed above. If you want to place a copy of any results on your own club site, please contact me first. All I ask is a clear credit on your results page for compiling the results!

Remember that all race information, entry forms and results on this site are hosted TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE. Reach 750,000 or more site visitors a year for 2 minutes work!! I'm building the 2008 diary - please let me have your 2008 race information as soon as you can. It will be very helpful to me if you can specify the following basic information (in addition to the usual other things): Day of week, date, title of event, location, county, distance in miles and/or km (your preference), type of event (road, hill, fell, trail, triath etc.) and any relevant web links. Provisional dates are also very welcome as long as you remember to let me know if these change or become firm dates!

Please also provide me with a full Multimap.com URL (for example see the Joe Salt Race on 1/1/08 - don't email me the actual map image as I won't publish it for copyright reasons) and I'll add that to your race information so runners can find you! If you're not sure how to focus Multimap, click here for some guidance. I can also accept other map links if you prefer.

Please use the Feedback form or email me to let me know what's good (and bad or just missing!) from the site. Help me to make the site more useful for you. If you use the feedback form please note that I can only reply to you if you enter a valid and correctly typed email address where indicated!

Race organisers and clubs - I WANT YOUR FORMS AND RESULTS!!! - if you want details of your club and/or events and/or results to appear in these pages, or for a link to your web site, please email or fax the details to me. Results etc. should preferably be by email in Excel or plain text/csv format, or with a unique character (e.g. #) separating the fields (from RaceMaster please save/export with .csv or .xls option). Please don't send pdf or Word format results if possible as they can awkward to reformat successfully without a lot of extra work. I can't always do very much with them! Entry forms are preferred in Word or pdf if possible. This is a free service with no obligation to use my results service. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you email your entry form, give it a meaningful name e.g. (event name) 2008 and not just Fun Run.doc or Entry form.doc! I get loads of these every day and if I get more than one and don't notice it can overwrite an already saved one from someone else... I'll try to take your posted results if I can - as this may involve quite a bit of work (and quite some delay in publication as I have a lot of earlier results in this format still to process), do contact me first before you send these to me as I can scan and ocr a clean tabulated copy but would have to re-type an unclear set (which I'd prefer not to do ;-))! I try to ensure that this site contains the original and fullest race calendar with links - beware of imitations - but I need your input for this to be the case as I can't do all the work myself! I am also happy to host copies of your club and regional newsletters for athletics, triathlons or whatever - these will go into the Miscellaneous bits and bobs page - zip, pdf, doc or whatever.
