From south, take jct 39 at Shap - go north on A6 through Shap village then fork left following Haweswater and Bampton. Road is narrow and slow! Allow plenty of time. This was a new race in 2008 and gaining in popularity - Mountain bike challenge of approx 50km (3 laps) on a course based on the Tarw Trail classed as "difficult". It is a challenging ride with twisty, rocky sections and fast flowing descents.
