Half hour cruise on an Ullswater steamer brings you to the start at Howtown from Glenridding.

Cross country event - Men's relay - 6 legs of 2.5 miles; Ladies' relay 3 legs of 2.5 miles. Both races start together.

Consistently well supported race. This is held over the unusually accurate distance of 8 miles 781 yards! Always good prizes, exceeding £1000.

10.00am		Lee Valley Trail Marathon, St. Margaretsbury Sports Ground, St. Margarets, Hertfordshire
Inaugural race - full olympic distance along the low paths of the River Lee between St. Margarets in Hertfordshire and Hackney Marsh. This is a point to point route which is mainly traffic free. Most paths are well-surfaced. The finish area is at Hackney Marsh East overlooking the 2012 Olympic site

11.30 am		David Staff Memorial Fell Race 5, The Bandstand (near The Kiosk), Sunnyhurst Wood, Darwen GR SD676227 - registration and presentation at the Kiosk
5.1 miles, 1200ft of climb. Well supported but small local fell race, in memory of young David Staff, a teenage Darwen Dasher, who tragically died during a race in Clitheroe in December 1994.
Registration opens approx. 10am. Run is straight up to Darwen Tower and back down, basically!
Sunnyhurst Wood can be found off the A666 - from junction 4 on the M65, follow Darwen direction for approx .5 miles. Turn right immediately after pelican crossing with large central island (Earnsdale Road). Please park carefully and with consideration for local residents - car share if possible - no parking at the Kiosk!
